Seventeen in Pictures

Another HOT one!
The forecast for days ahead said 85 and partly cloudy...
What we got was 98 and sunny as all get out!

We weren't mentally prepared for that I have to say... and there were a couple of stretches we were dragging pretty hard...
But, we marched on- and for the second year in a row, got to the Brooklyn Bridge right at sunset- evaporating any tiredness and rejuvenating our spirits.

This year we had the usual suspects, plus a few first-timers-
And for the first year ever, there was a new promenade open on the north side of the Brooklyn Bridge- so we were able to get some pictures from angles we have never seen before... really cool!

Some shots below- hope you enjoy-
And as always... hope you join us one year!

The Route

207th Street & Broadway
'A' Train Station

The G.W. Bridge at 178th St

Part of the Audubon Mural Project in Washington Heights

A long uphill stretch by the Church of the Intercession

The '1' Train on the Elevated Tracks in Harlem
By the front and rear doors are the MTA 'Pride' Hearts

The Harlem Train Station at 125th St
Making good time... but it's getting hotter...

88th St and Central Park West
Our customary Half-way Point stop

This year's Museum of Natural History show... T. REX!

Columbus Circle

A quick stop for a slice, and then on to Times Square

and our traditional pre-Brooklyn Bridge pints!

Cheers! to # 17

And onto the Brooklyn Bridge for the finish....

Seventeen

If you're not familiar...

To your left-
"About the Walk" tells you most of what you need to know-

Looking around the site gives you an idea of what we do every year-
And watching the video on left side mid-page gives you an idea of why-

*if you're viewing this on your mobile, click on 'See Web Version' so see the home column and video*

#17 is on a Wednesday this year-

We'll be back at our customary 10:30 am time- Leaving from the corner of 207th and Broadway.
(A-train to 'Inwood- 207th St.' station; 1-train to '207th st' station)

Some folks join us for the whole thing...
Some join us along the way for a stretch...
Some meet us for our traditional Pre-Brooklyn-Bridge Beer at The Beekman Pub, then walk the bridge with us (spectacular!)....
And some just join us after for dinner or drinks.

Whatever your inclination-
We hope to see you along the way!
